Happy New Year 2013

Hope everyone had a beautiful Christmas and is getting off to a great start in this new year! Haven't posted since July 2012, that's a long time. I really want to try and get back into this again. I have missed all of you and your wonderful stories!

I have sad news to report. On Dec 5th my old pug gal, Fuji, passed away. She had turned 14 in October. Meagan and I helped her to crossover to the Rainbow Bridge.  I had her since she was a little over 8 weeks old. Got her for Meagan in Christmas 1998. Meagan was just 8 years old back then. I miss her going to my room after she ate her breakfast so I could put her back on the bed to sleep out the day while I was at work. She would be waiting for me when I came home, ready to go out. She couldn't jump up on my old toybox anymore so I always had to put her to bed. She liked to sleep in her little bed on my bed with her blanket. I sure do miss my baby.

I still have the pugs Gidget and Onyx, the pom Diesel and the schnorkie, Cosmo and about 9 cats..

We are having warm weather now in the almost middle of January. Had to turn on the A/C!

I'm still working at LRMC Hospital as an operator. Let me tell you we sure get crazy calls especially when the moon is full. People tell you more than you really want to know! Meagan is a part time nanny for 2 children. She is 22 now and I told her she needs a job with benefits and some kind of retirement for the future. In time I suppose she will listen. She has a new puppy, Romeo, a doxie/lab mix. Yes, you read it right! He looks like a doxie with big feet and little stubby legs. Cute, cute!

Enough for tonight! Will tell you Gidget's story another evening! Hugs to all!

It's Fall somewhere!!

Hello girls!

I would love to be wherever this beautiful fall foliage is! Here it is Oct 16, 2011 Sunday. The A/C is still running. Muggy outside! I was meant to in live New England, I just know it. I feel it in my heart. After all, my Father was born in Maine. I was up there in New Hampshire this time last year. Beautiful weather, the leaves were gorgeous and crisp, cold air! So wish I was there at this very moment!

On a very sad note, Saturday, Sept 3rd, I lost my beloved little chihuahua, Sassy, to a horrible accident. She was mauled by one of my pugs. This pug is very food aggressive. I miss that little peanut everyday! She was 11 yrs old, very tiny, not quite 3 lbs and frail. She slept with me every night. I wanted to kill the pug, get rid of her, anything! Called her former owner but she can't take her back. Her sister won't allow it since she knows how the pug is. Doesn't want trouble with her dogs. The pug has been acting very strange since the incident. Food gorging like you wouldn't believe. She has never bothered the dog/cat food bags. Now she gets into them literally! I have to put them up high enough, 18 lb, on a shelf she can't reach. My daughter thinks she's feeling guilty! I was always very careful when it came to feeding time. It's partially my fault. Just horrible, can't forgive myself. I was Sassy's protector and I failed her.

I am now a 10 yr breast cancer survivor as of Oct 6th!!

I have been at my job 7 mths now. That is a great feeling! Meagan just applied for a job at Hobby Lobby. Hoping, praying she hears something very soon! Yes, Lakeland is getting a Hobby Lobby, grand opening in about 3 weeks. Yay! The store is huge! Can't wait to see all the neat stuff they have, just in time for Christmas!

Hope all is well with all of you! Happy Fall!!

Hot! Hot! Hot!

Hello everyone! Now that I have your attention with the Hugh Jackman eye candy I thought I would post a little something on my blog. Sorry for my absence.

Florida is in full swing for summer. Hot, sticky weather, afternoon thunderstorms complete with lots of lightning and booming thunder, humidity, mosquitoes, lots of sun when it's not raining and more mosquitoes, extremely hot temps in your car when it has been parked in the sun all day while at work. You get the idea!

I have been at my new full time job at Lakeland Regional Medical Center for 3 months now. I work on the switchboard and answer over 500 calls a day. There are 3 girls during the day and we take in 1500-2000 calls a day til 330pm when I leave. Then the afternoon shift takes over and the calls drop down somewhat. Our hospital has almost 4,700 employees. It's the 3rd largest in the state. It's also a trauma center. I seem more broke than ever. Meagan quit her job so I am footing her car insurance, gas for the car, and cell bill til she gets another job. Lakeland, located in Polk County, is the pits for finding a job!

I have another pug now. She is black and just turned a year old. I got her about 3 months ago from a former co-worker. Her little boy was scared of her as she plays pretty rough. I'm not sure if being black makes her a little more rambuntious than the fawns but she is a HANDFUL!! Into everything, none of the others bothered anything. She's another story! Her name is Onyx. Has fur that feels like velvet amd a little white blaze on her chest. Really cute! All he others are getting older by the day. My Fuji will be 13 in October and Gidget turned 5 in March. Sassy, the chi, turned 11. Elvis, yorkie mix, is really old and only God knows his true age. Cosmo, a schnorkie, is 8 now. Diesel the pom, will be 4 in December I think. Have I left out anyone? 7 dogs, no I don't think so. Then there are the cats!

I read blogs several times a week. Facebook has taken up TOO much of my time. I need to get back to blogging. I love all of your stories and seeing the pics you post. I still don't have a camera but one day maybe! Til next post, STAY COOL!!

Funny Thursday

THE MECHANIC A gynecologist had become fed up with malpractice insurance and HMO paperwork, and was burned out. Hoping to try another career where skillful hands would be beneficial, he decided to become a mechanic. He went to the local technical college, signed up for evening classes, attended diligently, and learned all he could. When the time for the practical exam approached, the gynecologist prepared carefully for weeks, and completed the exam with tremendous skill. When the results came back, he was surprised to find that he had obtained a score of 150%. Fearing an error, he called the Instructor, saying, "I don't want to appear ungrateful for such an outstanding result, but I wonder if there is an error in the grade?" The instructor said, "During the exam, you took the engine apart perfectly, which was worth 50% of the total mark. You put the engine back together again perfectly, which is also worth 50% of the mark." After a pause, the instructor added, "I gave you an extra 50% because you did it all through the muffler, which I've never seen done in my entire career."

Merry Christmas 2010

Merry Christmas to all my bloggie friends!! Yes, I'm a little late I know. Sorry!
Hope everyone had a wonderful day filled with great food, even greater family and friends and lots of love and fun and presents!
I had a wonderful Christmas Eve get together at my cousin's. Lots of delicious food and the gift exchange game is always so much fun.
Today Meagan and I went to my sister's for our Christmas dinner. Deep fried turkey, ham, oven baked turkey and all the fixins. One tiny slice of pecan pie, yep, just one tiny piece!
Wishing all of you the best for the New Year 2011, full of joy, hope, prosperity, health and whatever your heart desires!
Give all your furbabies a hug, kiss and belly rub from me and my babies.
